Xiayan Temple
Xiayan temple is a scenic spot in Yunyang. It faces the relocated Zhangfei Temple across the river. After the impoundment of the Three Gorges reservoir, it will be completely submerged. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Liu Daochang, who had the name of Daowei, made nearly a Thousand Buddhas here. There are more than 20 inscriptions by tourists since the Tang Dynasty. In 1067, when Su Dongpo passed by Yunyang, he visited Xiayan temple and wrote a passage in his travels to Xiayan Temple: "Zizhan and Kan Shi came here, and the monks in the temple saw the evil road as the end. I don't know that the experience of his servants is more than a hundred times that of them. I wrote on the 20th of the first month of Ding Wei.". Unfortunately, most of the damage did not exist. In 1935, Tu fengshu, a native of Fengjie County, asked Zhang Chaoyong, a calligrapher of Fengjie County, to copy and engrave the poems in small regular script. He collected 50 poems since Tang and Song Dynasties, including Wang Wei, Huang Tingjian, Fan Chengda, Yang Mai, Lu You, Li Tao, Cao Xuequan, Wei Han, etc. From Yunyang middle school, Mr. Zhang Yiming collected the materials embedded in the outer wall of Zhufeng Pavilion for tourists to enjoy.
